About the Photographer

An avid backpacker, snow-shoer & kayaker,  my life-long love of the natural world has always gone hand in hand with my passion for photography. I take an organic approach to photographing my subjects, strongly favoring natural light whenever possible.

Whether shooting  landscapes or travel photography, portraiture or events, I strive to familiarize myself with my subjects in order to best convey the intended message of the image. This laid back approach has served me well when photographing children, where sessions are unhurried, allowing the child to become comfortable with his or her environment before shooting a single frame.   

Whether photographing an individual or a group, my goal is to capture that spontaneous moment that makes a great image. I especially love exploring the relationships between two or more subjects.
